CRAIG RAMAGE

Craig joined Watford in 1994 from Derby County and became known as one of the cooler characters in his time at Vicarage Road, indeed, the phrase ‘as cool as Craig’ was often heard on the terraces. Craig made 104 appearances for Watford and scored 27 goals along the way, one of his most iconic being in the dying moments of a match at home to Port Vale. As the game meandered to a 2-2 draw, Craig got hold of the ball on the halfway line, danced through the Vale defence and lobbed the ball over the keeper to snatch a victory. Coolness personified.

Craig’s career also took him to Peterborough United, Bradford City and Notts County before he retired in 2001.

He is interviewed in Tales from the Vicarage volume 3, which you can buy here.
