GRAEME ANDERSON

Graeme Anderson was the Sunderland Echo's chief Sunderland AFC writer from 1996-2014 - only the fourth person in more than a century's coverage to hold that position.

Since opting to go freelance he has worked for almost every national newspaper and gone on to cover Newcastle United and Middlesbrough too, though Sunderland AFC remains his enduring passion.

He has written more words on Sunderland Football club than any other journalist in history - most of them in the right order - and continues to report on the club from time to time.

Born in Haswell, County Durham - heartland of Black Cats' support - he now lives in Sunderland with Marion, and their daughter Amy. It's a mixed marriage, Marion is originally from Newcastle.
