PHIL HAY

Born in Penicuik, near Edinburgh, in 1980 and a Heart of Midlothian supporter from the day when football first registered. University brought Phil south of the border at the age of 17 and he has worked as a journalist for the past 18 years, 15 of those on the Yorkshire Evening Post. As the paper’s chief football writer he has covered Leeds United home and away since 2006 and followed the many dramas at Elland Road. A dad of two patient girls, neither of whom look like catching the bug.
